Our Process
Step 1.
Initial Consultation
If you are considering building a new home the first step is to set up an initial consultation. This meeting will generally last 1 to 2 hours and can be done either in the comfort of your existing home or our office. The goal for this meeting will be to discuss what type of home you are looking for: ranch or two story, traditional or modern, square foot requirements, location and desired budget. Concluding this meeting we will provide you with a general range of the total investment based upon the desires above, as well as the process for transitioning into project planning.
Step 2.
Project Planning
The project planning stage is the heart of the custom home building process. In this stage we will design for you detailed blueprints and specifications which will require multiple meetings to determine all the various pieces which go into your complete custom build. A site evaluation of the building site is conducted as well to properly see how your new home will be situated onto your property. At the completion of the project planning phase, a formal written contract will be presented based upon the predetermined selections and specifications.
Step 3.
Construction
This is where things really start to get exciting! All predetermined materials are ordered, permits are secured and the construction begins. During this phase we will keep you updated weekly as to what is happening and if any additional decisions need to be made. Walkthroughs are conducted as needed to ensure that all of the smallest details are covered. Once the construction is complete, a final walkthrough will be made.
Step 4.
Final Walkthrough
At the final walkthrough, we will show you how best to utilize your new home from the mechanical systems and exterior care, down to the proper products for cleaning and maintenance. You will also be provided with a detailed list of all subcontractors and suppliers, selection sheets and all necessary warranty information. We will also answer any outstanding questions and discuss our builder warranty and procedures. After that, it’s time for you to invite the family and friends over to show off your new home!
